Dear colleagues and friends,
For the first time in the history of the Baltic states, we are delighted to welcome the specialists of various branches of sports medicine from both the Baltic states and other countries at the International Baltic Conference on Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine in Tartu, Estonia, on 19-21 August 2010.
Tartu is home to the oldest university in the Baltic states where a unique department of sports medicine under the faculty of medicine was opened 50 years ago. Department alumni are recognized specialists not only in the former Soviet countries but also in the United States, Germany and elsewhere.
In addition to presentations by the best speakers on sports medicine from the Baltic states and all over the world, the conference will feature practical sessions on various stages of treatment of sports injuries.
We hope you will enjoy the conference in the home to our Alma Mater and the beautiful summer in Estonia.
The conference is jointly organised by the Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian Societies of Arthroscopy and Sports Traumatology, the Estonian Sports Medicine Association and the University of Tartu under the patronage of the IOC, ISAKOS and ESSKA.

Austatud kolleegid ja sõbrad!
Esmakordselt Balti riikide ajaloos on meil heameel tervitada Baltimaade aga ka teiste maade spordmeditsini erinevate harude spetsialiste I Baltinaade Artroskoopia, Spordi Traumatoloogia ja Spordimeditsiini Konverentsil Tartus 19 – 21. augustil 2010 aastal.
Linnas kus asub Batimaade vanim ülikool, kus 50 aastat tagasi asutati unikaalne spordimeditsiini osakonda arstideaduskonna kooseisus , mille lõpetanud spetsialistid on tunnustatud spordimeditiini spetaialistid arstid mitte ainult endises nõukogude liidu maades, vaid ka USA-s, Saksamaal ja paljudes teistes riikides..
Konverents toimub koostöös Eesti, Läti ja Leedu Spordi Traumatoloogia ja Artroskoopia seltside, Eesti Spordimeditsiini Fõderatsiooni ja Tartu Ülikooliga ja on IOC, ISAKOS ja ESSKA patronaazi all.
Üritus sisaldab lisaks loengutele oma ala parimatelt spetsialistidelt Baltimaadest ja üle kogu maailma ka praktitisi väljaõppeid spordivigastuste erinevatest ravietappidest.
Loodame et naudite konverentsi meie alma materi kodulinnas aga samuti kaunist Eestimaa suves.
